Addis Pharmaceutical Factory (APF) was established in 1992 with initial investment of 200 million Ethiopian Birr and hired 1200 people before the outbreak of the war on Tigray. It is the largest pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in the country located in Tigray’s Adigrat city. The factory employed state-of-the-art manufacturing technology and equipment. According to the company’s profile on Ezega Business Guide, the factory produced safe, effective and quality drugs and had an annual production capacity of 1.2 billion tablets, 19 billion ampoules, 10 million vials, 500,000 capsules, 4million ointment tubes and 9.6 million bottles of syrup.
