Eyewitnesses and family members say Ethiopian and Eritrean forces massacred priests and more than 50 worshipers in Endabano village, Tahtay Koraro district.
We heard gunshots fired. We knew the Eritrean soldiers were here. We didn’t know where to hide. The soldiers came to our home and confronted us. My husband told them that he is a priest, showing them his cross and his clothing. He shot my husband here once, and shot him again over there, then he fell.
Hadas Kahsay (whose husband, Priest Shushay Tedla, was killed by Eritrean forces)
The Eritrean soldiers killed the people and piled them like a fire wood. They (Eritrean soldiers) killed our innocent priests (kahnat). Here is buried his holiness priest Hadush. Here is buried his holiness priest Yihdego. And here is buried his holiness chief priest Shushaye. Over there is the graveyard for all the worshippers massacred that day.
