Ethiopian/ENDf forces have caused significant damage to the Martyr’s Monument and Museum in Mekelle which was built to commemorate the 17 years of armed struggle against the brutal dictatorship of Mengistu Hailemariam. More than 100,000 Tigaryans are believed to have sacrificed their lives and more than 100,000 wounded during the struggle.
